Prof. Rashed is an expert in structural engineering and numerical modelling. He believes in BEM and its ability to analyse all aspects of structural engineering. I know Prof. Youssef Rashed for over 15 years. During my graduate studies I used the BEM analysis code developed by his research group. These structural analysis software allowed me to model building floors very accurately, taking into account the finite dimensions of columns and beams, which is very challenging with FEM analysis. PLPAK is a very advanced analysis platform, yet very friendly and easy to use. I highly recommend it for engineers interested in accurate structural analysis.

The idea brought in by Dr. Rashed regarding the design optimization of magnetorheological dampers is advantageous for building and heavy construction in seismic regions. The novel approach of design optimization using boundary element software developed by Dr. Rashed is impressive. I enjoyed co-authoring a paper reflecting this cutting edge technology with Dr. Rashed and his team. I strongly believe this technology will significantly increase projects resilience and sustainability.

I had recently several fruitful and successful collaborations with Dr Youssef Rashed in the analysis, for design purposes, of actual prestressed concrete special structures and bridge components where he excelled in adopting joint techniques mixing the boundary and finite element methods to model complex real-world structures considering SSI. Dr Rashed adopts smart and efficient techniques based on the boundary elements formulation using largely verified proprietary analysis and design software.

I have been working with Prof. Rashed about 13 years. We have worked on many large projects using the PLPAK software. It is wonderful software for structural engineers to analyze and design high-rise buildings. It specializes in soil-structure interaction modeling, especially piled rafts. In addition to real area modeling, which is useful in value engineering. The use of the BEM in structural engineering is promising and will change the future of structural engineering in the world.

Prof Rashed have introduced us to the use of the boundary element technology. We used it in several practical applications in tall buildings in Saudi Arabia.  Prof Rashed also finished our jobs within few hours as his innovative technology is totally compatible with Autodesk Revit models. He also provided us with verifications of our previous finite element models. Moreover, he saved us a lot of money in the design of PT slabs. It was really great collaboration.

I have been working with Prof. Rashed for years. Prof. Rashed is a pioneer in the BEM. PLPAK is an interesting software with many capabilities in structural engineering, especially analysis of tall buildings and soil structure interaction. We have been worked with Prof. Rashed in several tall buildings. PLPAK provides efficient analysis and design of slabs. creating the analytical models from Revit 3D model save a lot of time. Dynamic analysis for tall buildings is powerful.
